De Grote Oversteek

Podcast Series ‘De Oversteek’ 2 – Down South
(The Crossing

After the successful first season of the podcast series ‘De Oversteek’ (Dutch spoken) about entrepreneurship in America, the second season of the podcast (which was released in mid-May) focuses on the South: why companies are moving to the south of the U.S.

Elon Musk is moving his company to Texas, and so are Dropbox and Oracle. More and more companies are moving from Silicon Valley or New York to the southern states of the U.S. In four episodes you will hear why the south is so attractive, and why Dutch companies are also making the crossing to this region.

TABS participated in this podcast series, in which you can hear the president and founder Jacob Willemsen, and is one of the proud sponsors.

Colorado First to Charge (Online) Retailers for their Infrastructure: Retail Delivery Fee (RDF)

As of July 1st, the state of Colorado is requiring retailers that deliver/sell products into CO to collect and remit a retail delivery fee.
Given the number of Amazon Prime (and other) delivery trucks zipping around neighborhoods daily, this could be quite lucrative for the state. In fact, it’s expected to generate $16.8 million during fiscal year 2022–23 and $18.8 million in FY 2023–24.
This is just the start of states imposing random taxes to recover from the losses they acquired during the pandemic.

As part of our sales tax services that we provide to clients you may contact us to find out how this implies to your company.

Affordable Health Insurance for Expats in the U.S.

A year ago, TABS entered a unique collaboration to give access to affordable health insurance for expats, offering our network many advantages if you join through TABS!

Many European start-ups that are expanding to the U.S. are hoping to offer great health insurance to their future hires. They often aim to offer health benefits that are similar to the European head office and use these great benefits as a selling point to attract new talent for their U.S. subsidiary. However, what many start-ups do not always immediately realize is how expensive health insurance can be in the U.S, especially when compared to European standards. Not only are the costs a lot higher, in the U.S. it is also not possible to offer health insurance to your first employee. There need to be at least two participating employees to offer group health insurance to your U.S. employees.
