How De La Mur scaled profitably with TABS

Key Results

  • TABS facilitated the establishment of the U.S. subsidiary, positioning De La Mur as a local business from day one and building immediate credibility with retail partners.
  • The U.S. subsidiary enabled De La Mur to act as its own Importer of Record, with a domestic warehouse, mitigating the impact of tariffs and speeding up deliveries across North America.

About De La Mur Line & Home

Founded in 2015 in Barcelona, De La Mur started as a family project dedicated to the responsible design and manufacturing of handbags and accessories using domestic fabrics. Today, it has 50 employees and a presence in over 4,000 retail locations worldwide. In 2024, the brand made its most ambitious leap yet: entering the U.S. market through a 100% self-funded growth model.
It doesn't matter how well you do in Europe: in the U.S., partners prefer dealing with a local company. Working with TABS gave us legitimacy, streamlined our visas, and saved us from massive headaches.

Solution

To compete in the United States, De La Mur made the strategic decision to incorporate a local subsidiary—an essential step to build trust with American buyers and optimize its supply chain. Following a recommendation from ACCIÓ (the Catalan agency for business competitiveness), the brand selected TABS as its strategic partner to guide the company's incorporation and corporate structure design. The decision to partner with TABS was driven by their clear communication, transparency, and hands-on guidance from day one.

Thanks to this collaboration, De La Mur established a strong, profitable foundation in its first year, allowing the team to focus on nurturing distributor relationships and scaling the brand.
