Ian was born and raised in Canada, where he studied multimedia development and computer networking before working in the technology and IT sectors. After immigrating to the United States in 2001, he worked in an administrative capacity at a software company in Portland, Oregon. In 2008, he moved to New York City to work as a Project Manager with a manufacturing company, which gave him experience in product development, sourcing, and international trade, in addition to his technology and administrative skills.
